Jan 9th - 10th 2010

We managed to get back this weekend and stay a night in the cabin. It was a beautiful weekend and we had set out with the mind set of just enjoying the cabin and get some snowshoeing in. There was a lot of snow so we loaded up the toboggan and transported stuff to the cabin. Here is Patty with the last load:

I got the fire started as Patty put away stuff and cleaned up the cabin a bit. Although sunny the temperature was quite cool, so the wood stove was going to get a workout today:

Once the fire was going and we were settled in, we headed out on a snowshoe around the property. The dogs came along and we soon found ourselves at the pond:

Pictures from the walk:

Here is my crazy wife trying to run in her snowshoes... She did a great job no???

Here are a series of videos that I shot from the pond back to the cabin:

We survived the night just fine. The cabin was plenty warm enough, but the wood we had was softwood so the fire didn't burn all night. I stoked the fire a couple of times through the night as did Patty, but all and all quite happy with it. Here are some pictures of the cabin from the morning, nice icicles huh?

Had a great weekend, not really sure when we will be back...

Happy New Year!!!!

Well Patty and I made it up to the cabin this morning. It had been a while since we were last there so we went to check on things. It was a beautiful drive which got better and better as we drove due to the snow falling and the snow that was in the trees.

Here is the driveway up to the trailer:

Lots of snow!!:

Thought that this was a cool photo:

Looking out the door: (once we opened the door we had to adjust the jab as the cabin had settled.)

Patty and I went for a quick snowshoe:

The dogs for course had a blast!!!:

The cabin was in great shape, quite happy with it. We didn't stay long, but there was quite a presence of moose tracks in the snow, mostly on the path ways. Really had a good visit and we hope to return next weekend to stay for a bit.

Happy New Years!!!!
